Rattle - Left front hub assembly

My Buddy's 2002 Yukon XL rattles on the front left wheel. Sounds like the shock is loose but shock doesn't appear to be bad. I have 70000 miles mostly city driving. I hear a single 'tick' when I turn at slow speed. Any ideas? Is the fix something that can be accomplished without dealer equipment?

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me...

 

 

 

 

humm... could be...

 

But I just figured out that my annoying rattle is from loose front disc brake pads..

 

Have your friend try to very..very lightly touch the brake pedal and see if the sound doesn't happen...
