Stearing Wheel Controls

I was looking at an 04' GMC and thought about something. If you went with an aftermarket MP3 radio, would it be possible to use those stearing wheel controls with the new radio?

Maybe someone from the audio forum can answer but I will type what I know anyway.

It depends on the radio. In addition to the needed add on module for the warning sounds/blinkers, etc (these all come from the radio) you would need an additional module for the wheel controls.

I think someone hooked one up using the aux input so no additional work was needed.

You need an aftermarket deck that has a remote and then the adapter from PAC, the SWI-X.

 

Not sure if this will let you retain the DIC functions of the buttons, but I think it should.

The DIC still works fine. I have the SWI-X on mine.
