Short or Long...Which One?

I have an 84 C10 Long Bed. I want to rehab the cab, stroke and polish the motor, soften up the suspension, and run mags on it.

For the sake of grip, am I better off rebuilding on a short box frame, or a long box frame?

As far as suspension goes, I am NOT interested in lowering the truck...but I am interested in trying to modernize the suspension (front & back). Never dealt with bags...so I'm a little headshy about them.

I was hoping to find some kind of tubular A-Arm, but all I see are lowering A-Arms. Are there any other options for softening the suspension in back without bags? Or am I stuck with bags and sway bars?

Also...I intend on staying with a 350...what tranny would match up the best with a posi rear end?

I would think a long bed would grip a little better given the tad bit more weight back there. Have you checked out places like LMC? They might have a tubular a-arm for your truck. I think it's www.lmc.com but you may wanna google it.

I am familiar with LMC, as I have ordered from them before.

I see alot of custom trucks out there, but very few are long beds. Now there is the issue of how to deal with the suspension itself.

Just have to figure it out myself I guess...I appreciate your reply, but this post has been here awhile, and you were the first person to respond.
