Exhaust for my 72 K-20 with 350v8?

She's a 1972 K-20 4x4 with 350 and 4 speed manual. Stock ram-horn exhaust manifolds and dual exhaust with glass packs. Needs new from manifolds back (hello rust)

 

Thinking about crossover (with bolted on disconnect so I can pull tranny if needed). Should I go stainless or standard steel and throw on some manifold paint (leaning towards stainless).

 

Purchase a kit, or have my local muffler shop bend some for me?

 

I'm looking for good down-low grunt and a nice sound. Looking to keep the glass packs...like the sound.
