Hi, I am new to this forum and found lots of info on the navigaiton systems and possiblely looking for help.. I installed a new non lux touch screen in my tahoe and everything works fine audion wise, I found the vss wire and connected that to a pac ab-gm12 harness I had for my ipod(I dont have Bose) in the E position which was a blue w/white tracer and when looking at the harness the way it plugs in to the radio it would be the top row second wire if right, my question is when I was using the nav it took a while to update and I am using v4.1 disc but it still was lagging, I would make the turn before it..how would I know if I connected the vss wire correctly? is their anything i should check for or did I miss something in the forums?? Thanx David

Ill post some pics later of the tap from a4 to E unless I tapped into the wrong wire on the 12pin and I mounted the antenna where it should be so I dont know!!

You could put a switch in the VSS line and switch it off while running down the road and look for a difference. I strongly recommend putting a switch on the VSS line anyway so you can have full functionality when running down the road. I don't recommend typing in an addr. while you are moving but if you have a passenger in the truck, they will have the option of doing any and all available options on the screen. Just remember to switch it back on when you are complete, otherwise it will get real jumpy.

I am might have not hooked it up properly then dont know how though it seemed pretty easy cause I can already edit my route or type in an address while in gear...being able to do that already means the vss is not connected properly then???

The conditions indicate that it may not be getting the VS signal.

Here are the two connectors showing the proper positions for the VSS wire.

Yes of course I tapped into another green w/white tracer wire that I thought was in A4 but curved right around it into another spot in the cluster harness, the only place I did not check found the A4 and double checked and now everything works, I staired at the image you posted and looked at it like that and realized it was wrong Thanx so much for the help
