boring the engine

ok, I scrapped the 6.0l idea when I found a 5.3l out of a totaled truck, 9000 miles, wrapped in plastic, looks like a crate motor, runs like it too, now my question is, how big can I bore it(hoping to 6.0l size) and how much will it cost? I am hoping that the engine sleeves will not cause too much trouble to where it is something about $50 a whole to bore, can anyone help?

If I had an engine like that I'd sell it and buy a scrap 6.0 to build if you are set on boreing it over anyway.

Plan on spending alot more than $400 on the machine work for a motor to be done right.

To enlarge a 5.3 to 6.0 would require a 6.0 crank at minimum and new rods, pistions, heads or larger valves. Probably in the area of $3-4000 or more. Plus you will need a tune.

$ for $ you are almost always better off going as big as you ever expect to from the beginning. if you don't you will be sorely disapointed and eventually end up spending more mula.
