1993 Chevy ex-cab rear seat

How do I get the seat belt cover off the floor mounted end to remove the lower side panels on my '93 extended cab 4x4?  It looks like they have to come off in order to get the panel off.  Then, can anyone tell me what the easiest was to put in a rear seat.  It came new from the factory without it.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  I'm also wanting to add cruise and tilt.  Can I just put in a new steering column with cruise on it, or do I have to add anything under the hood for it to work?

Check for some small little circular things sticking out of the plastic.  Use a screw driver and pry these out (they are plastic push pins things).  Just be careful to not damage them.  That should be whats holding it in (at least thats how the 00's are)

You do have to remove the seatbelt mount to remove the side panels. There is a little plastic door that you can pry open with a screwdriver. After you get the door open you can see that at the bottom there is a T50 Torx head bolt. You will need an extension to get to it but once you back out the bolt the whole assembly will be loose. As for the side panels there are a few screws in the lower part and a couple inside the armrest on the panel. I am not sure if you want to get the whole thing out or just the lower part of the panel (its in 2 pieces) If you want to remove the upper portion you will have to remove the panel that is below the rear window. To do this pull from the bottom of the panel until you get the clips loose and then lift straight up. The upper panel above the window does not need to be removed. As a matter of fact you can't get to the screws that mount in until you remove the side panels. To get the side panels out with the upper panel in place simply pull the bottom of the side panel out away from the body and bring it down. There are 2 tabs in the top part of the side panel that are behind the upper panel. These should just slide out if you follow my procedure.

 

If you want the tilt and the cruise control then getting a steering colum out of the junk yard would be the best way to go and it should have all the connectors included but you will need to get the complete system which will include some under hood components. The salvage yard should be able to provide you with a complet list of components. I have never done this but I think this should be all you need. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Got the seat in in about an hour.  Thanks for the info.  The truck was bought new without a rear seat or seat belts, so I had to take off all the panels.
