2WD Lift question...

Before any flaming starts on lifting a 2wd... I also own a '48 Willy's CJ2a and a '00 4Runner LTD 4x4 that I use offroad. I just want to lift my 2wd to give it a better stance and of course for looks too!

I have a 1988 GMC 2500 2 wheel drive and I have looked around alot and cannot seem to find a 2wd lift kit for a 88-98 2500. Do people like me just use a kit for the 1500 or something? I don't know alot about the suspension differences from the 1500-2500. I am still debating whether I want to just do a front leveling kit and stuff some 285's under it since it's a daily driver or if I want to go ahead and do a 6-8 inch lift and run some 35's. I am leaning more towards the bigger lift idea!

Thanks for any help,

Dave

I did a 3" lift on a friend's 2wd 2003 Chev. Used lift spindles in front and blocks in back. Couldn't be easier :chevy:

But for 6"... I dunno. Maybe some longer springs in conjuction with lift spindles up front, blocks and add a leaf in back ??

Have you actually contacted any manufacturers to see what they offer ??

I found in one of my vendor catalogs through the shop I work for that Fabtech makes a 4 inch 2 wheel drive spindle lift. If that ends up being my only option I may go with it but I would like 6-8 inches...

Thanks for the help!
