01 yukon headrest removal

How do you remove the front seat headrest? 01 yukon, leather seats with ratcheting headrest. thanks

Haven't pulled one in a while, and we use a wide variety of methods. Look at the little grommet on the seat, where the headrest rods enter the seat. If you find a little hole on the side of each one, about the diameter of a large paperclip, this is where you insert something (a paperclip works well ) to release the retainer.

 

You usually need two people, one to press in both at the same time while someone else pulls up the head rest.
