Remote Start

Want to get remote start for wife's Burban. Hope to find one with remote that will take place of the factory GM keyless entry unit that hangs on my keychain (don't want two on my keychain).

Not really worried about $$$. Would like one that automatically shuts off vehicle after 30 minutes if you don't get in. Buddy had one like that.

Suggestions for remote start kits? Dealers? Etc.?

Thanks, Daubs

I am on my third truck with a remote start. All three systems were Vipers. The first system was more than ten years ago. I have never had a single issue with any of the systems. I have had the same shop install all three systems, I believe the install is almost as important as the system. For my latest system I went all out. It is a two way system so it lets you know when the truck is running. I don't have to guess if it started anymore. This is a big plus for me as I can't see my truck from work.

Thanks for the suggestion. The Viper's look good. I think my buddy has one....I'll investigate more here in town and see how much to install.

Thanks again. D.

I had one on my last Tahoe, Viper..great range, no problems, even had the AUX button hooked up to turn on the heated seets!!

BE SURE to have someone who KNOWS what they are doing install it!

I had a non-viper installed. Nothing but trouble, cost me $750 to replace the wiring harness under the dash. Dealer told me I should have gotten a Viper, they are the only ones that work with the Chevy's.

Hope it helps

Look into the Viper. I have the 791XV. Does remote start, the LCD lets you know the status of the vehicle at all times, and has 6 other codes for other goodies. Love it!
