Finally finished Air Dam Install

I spent a large chunk of change for the Chrome Air dam for my 2000 Siverado. As I am unable to use hand tools(disabled vet), I decided to have a Chevy dealer install the fog light kit and program the BCM. I will NEVER again goto a GM dealer for any work.

I found out the hard way that the dealer in Arkansas has a flat rate of $88 an hour and the manual supposedly says installing the fog lamps takes four hours.

A few simple steps to plug in components and a little bit of bending down to make connections. The Head Mechanic supposedly did the work. The only hard thing was soldering connectors - he had to cut off the connectors from the round driving lights and solder them to the supplied factory harness.

The driving lights were in place when I went to this dealer.

Distinctive Chrome Air Dam (Local PU Parts Whse) and

Fog Light Kit 4" Round (Required for this air dam) 438.00

Factory Fog Light Kit(From gmpartsdirect) 93.00

Install air dam and lamps 53.00

Install Fog Lamp wiring and program BCM (includes

26.00 shop charge(asst BS)) 296.00 :bs:

Total waste of money 880.00

While I could have bought the air dam online for less money, even the installer had problems with it(They broke three lamps). Online shipping would have been 93 bucks; since the air dam was warped I would have to ship it back at self cost - so I guess I did all right getting this part from a local dealer and having them install it.
