disconnecting air bag

am going to replace the multifunction switch today in a 2002 2500hd, what do i need to do to get the air bag out with out it blowing up in my face? thanks for your help.

There's a fuse labeled AIR BAG in the IP fuse block. Pull it.

  Ha!! So GM Customer service, ive already been talking with someone on your email team and there is nothing they can do. So pretty consistent with everyone else’s experience- you can do NOTHING.. worthless emails. Sure glad i have 4 GM cars on our family cuz now its clear you dont care.. Sad and pathetic.
