Latest GM Card offer

I received an offer in the mail today to up my GM card to $2000 off in addition to other incentives. There was a website. Here's a link to the offer. It seems like it would be worth checking out if anyone is in the market for a new vehicle.

If you want to use the card make sure you keep it and take it with you to the dealer. I received one of those a couple years ago and used it to buy a 2003 Silverado. The dealer had no clue what I was talking about. Once I showed him the card he gave me the extra $2,000 off the price we had already worked out.

Just as a note what I do when I buy a new vehicle is don't mention anything about a GM card dollars or other incentives you might know about until you have the price worked out. Again when I bought the 2003 I received a military discount of $750, the extra $2,000, GM dollars of nearly $2,000. Then asked them about a loyality discount another dealership was giving of $500. I don't think they were happy with me but guess what, I got one hell of a deal and was happy.

Have a great day.

I agree - the dealership does not have to cover the cost for your GM card earnings or any of the incentives that go along with it. Do not mention anything about it until you are actually sitting down at the finance table with your price already agreed upon. If you are going to buy an extended warranty, nogotiate that down first too before you mention the GM card.

I posted this info on GM Inside News as well. One of the posters there got a $3K bonus. Guess it has to do with how much is already earned on the card. Just wondering how often the GM Card does this? I got something similar in the fall of 04 (why I'm driving my current truck instead of my 01) My wife's vehicle won't come off lease for over a year. I sure do wish one of these coupons would show up about that time. As far as the previous posts are concerned, I couldn't agree more. Keep your mouth shut about this bonus until numbers are firm... then mention the GM Card discount. Dealers certainly don't tip their hands, you shouldn't either.
