Mattt Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Ive got a rattle coming from the front end when I drive over any rough surfaces. I notice it every day entering my housing tract where there is simulated cobble stones in the road. I think it might be the brake pads or calipers. Seems like it goes away when I hit the brakes over this cobble stone surface. Anyone else notice this? Solutions? I thought maybe my pads were almost gone/worn so they were looser in the caliper, but I checked them tonite, and Ive got lots of pad left. Its amazing, almost 70k on the ticker, and the pads still have lots of life left. ~1/4"-3/8"
agoody68 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I had the same problem, yes it is the pads rattling in the caliper. Mine had lots of pad left also. You need to replace the spring clip retainers for the pads too.
Mattt Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 Did you replace the "spring clip retainers?" Did it make your problem go away? Im surprised you could get the spring clip retainers by themselves. That seems like something that would only come with the pads. Thanks for the advice.
