I have a gmc 2500hd 2001 my abs is not working my abs light in dash is on. I want to know what is the common problems on it. Note i haven t pull trouble code out of cumputer . My truck is a 4x4. Thanks in advance JF.

I have a 2000 Z-71 4x4. The ABS light is currently on in mine also. I did take it to the Dealer to have them check it out. I was told that the problem is the ECBM "Electronic Control Brake Module". If purchased at the dealer, it is about $900.00 plus installation (they quoted me an hour and a half labor). The dealer suggested that I shop for one from a salvage vehicle. I found some that were advertised on line for about 150.00 or so. They are Delco repaired modules. They even have installation instructions on the web site. I bought one but just haven't been able to get it installed yet.

Many on this forum have had theirs repaired by module master including myself. Works great and I saved a ton of $$$$
