no spark

I have a 89' GMC K2500 5.7 tbi 'My problem is engine turns but no spark to plugs, it has power to coil when key is on also while cranking also power through coil to dist.

I have a new coil and ing. mod, batt,/ Cap&rotor are fine.

Am I missing something the truck ran fine, then next time I went to start it nothing

I can't find any other sensor like a crank sensor?

any help would be great I hope I in the right forum?

ps I also just bought an 1989 GMC Z71 1500 4X4 with a stroker 383, drive train has less than 20,000 miles this will be my new ride , ML :D

hmmm, you say that you know you have spark to the dist right but its not getting to the plugs? The only thing there to check would be the wires, because that is the only thing between the dist and hte plugs. A sensor would not keep spark from going from the dist to the plugs. However, a bad coolant temperature sensor would keep it from starting.

?Is the coolant temp sensor that piece just in front of the thermostat housing I know that it got soaked with antifreeze last week when the raidiator let go. thank's ML
