Gas Mileage for Yokon XL reg vs Denali

what kind of mileage are you guys seeing. I have a friend looking at getting either and 05 or 06 and they were wondering what the real world numbers are.

 

Also what kind of GPS does everyone like. They are trying to decide whether to get the navigation system from GMC or another brand like Garmin etc.

I have a '04 Yukon Denali, so can't help you with the fuel mileage. About the GPS, I have had three different radio/GPS units and two different GPS antennas as of today and still do not have a working GPS. The dealer is contacting GM again today to see what to do next. I would say an aftermarket GPS should be much better.

I have an 06 XL denali.

My normal driving almost all streets, I get around 13 as expected. On the freeway with cruze on I got 19.9 mpg on a 85 mile trip at about 75mph. I filled up just before getting on the freeway. That was for my 3rd tank. I have about 1500 miles on it total now.

If I acccelerate slow, I can get about 14.2 but everyone is passing me including corolas.

 

I also had them put in the factory Nav so that I could keep the rear audio working. I do not have the RSE, but I had a PAC product put in that enables the RSE option on the stereo and has an line in audio for an mp3 player on it. I like the nav better than my old avic-N1. The main problem with the Factory one is that you can not set points while driving. It is anoying having to stop when My wife is there and can type stuff in. On the N1 we could override it and input stuff. Its not nearly as nice as the Toyota or Honda Nav with voice activation but its functional.
