Oil cooler line HELP

My 94 suburban 1500 4x4 w/ 5.7 has been leaking oil right where the lower cooler line goes into the oil filter housing (if thats what that part is called). It attaches with a plastic clip that goes up into the housing. I have replaced the hose twice and tried everything I know to do, but it leaks badly right where it inserts. I dont know if there is something else I can try. The housing itself looks like you could put a wrench on it to tighten, but I dont want to do that without some guidance. If I wind up having to replace the whole housing, I dont ever know what its called. I cant find any info in my haynes manual, or on any website. You guys are my last hope before I go totally nuts with this thing

That is called your oil cooler adapter. Get with your chevy parts guy and get the o-ring that goes in where that hose is. I am buying the parts to put one on my trck due to the heavy hauling I do with it. Looking at the paperwork thats what ya probably need.

I had the same problem with my 2000 Z71 and they fixed the leak by adding some sort of sealant around the adapter. They didn't do that at first and it kept leaking. The second time the tech added the sealant and fixed the problem (he mentioned something about not requiring but they had some many problems that they decided to start doing it).

Mr. Smith, you were right on I took it to a local garage and they found that O ring you were talking about, had it replaced and me back on the road with no leaks in about 30 minutes. Thanks for the good info.
