Trailblazer Heating Help

Recommended Posts

My parents have a 02 TB LTZ with the dual climate controls..

Starting yesterday, the passenger side has NO heat at all, the driver side works perfectly and this morning you could draw a line down the middle of the window were the driver side defrosted and the passenger side didn't.. funniest sight I've ever seen.

Anyways, does anyone know if theres a seperate module or fuse/relay for the passenger side heat and where would it be located...

The warranty ran out a long time ago, and I'd like to figure this out myself if I could.

. the problem is probably one of your temp actuators took a dump and is not moving the doors to the correct position. thats the best i can tell you unless you have a good scanner availible to see wether or not the door counts are moving, not to mention that to do the right hand side temperature actuator isnt the easiest thing in the world - you have to remove the i/p carrier *if* i remember right. first try to check all the HVAC fuses - there should be 3 (HVAC A, HVAC B and a ithink one other) After checking the fuses try to reset the actuators by performing this:

(make sure ignition is OFF)

Remove the HVAC B fuse for MINIMUM of 10 seconds i usually leave it out for a few minutes.

Install the HVAC B fuse.

Start the vehicle.

Wait 40 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.

Dont touch anything after you start the vehicle after step 3, just start the car and walk away, go make some margaritas or something. i always let em run for a couple minutes. if it doesnt reset and fix your problem more than likely either you have a bad actuator or there is a trouble code stored (they wont recal properly if you have any DTC's)

i hope this helps
