Engine speed on startup

When I start my 2002 TrailBlazer, the RPMs go to about 1500 and very gradually drop back down to where they normally run at 600 RPM while idling. The problem only exists on startups, not in traffic or stopped at a light, just on the start. Also, my power windows seem to use a tremendous amount of power, dimming all the lights including headlights, when held down. When holding the power window buttons down, the engine also loses about 100 RPM, but gains them back when the buttons are released. I don't know if that has any relation to the startup, but it's better to include it than to leave it out and maybe not find the problem. Any ideas as to what is possibly wrong with my startup? Thats the way they are programed on start up,the power window deal,my 04' does that.So does my brothers.
