how do you tell what model your tranny is?

Hey guys...I bought my truck used at about 50,000 miles and i never bothered to ask what transmission or gears my truck had. How can i get this information?

 

The truck is a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 with the 5.3L

Probably a 4L60E Transmission and 3.73 gears

 

But check the RPO Codes in the glove box and post them here and someone will know what they mean.

5.3L is only available with one tranny (auto) and like mentioned 4l-60e. No use in wasting time checking RPO's.
