Code scanners

tmaj1865

Question

I'm looking for a scanner to read DTS and ABS codes. I've looking at the Snap-On Vantage and the MT2500 on E-Bay, and at my local pawn shops. I want one for my personal use. If any one has any insight or know of a better scanner, please, let me know.

Thanks Mike

YOU DO

Reset a Check Engine light.

Turn off that annoying light and save a trip to the dealer!

Perform your own emission tests.

Know beforehand if your vehicle will pass inspection.

Real-time monitoring, plotting, and logging of sensors.

Ignition timing, O2 sensors, air & engine temp, more!

Generate performance stats and print or share online.

0-60mph, 1/4 mile et, 1/8 mile et, 1000' et, and more!

Generate dyno charts and print or share online!

Plot horsepower & torque curves for any RPM range

I know of the Snap-On Vantage, also their Modius, and Solarus {hope I spelled them right} scanners will scan for ABS, but I know that just from reading their web sights. I also know that OTC scanners will also read them. I know it sounds like I'm answering my own question, I want to know from someone that has used them and let me know the pros and cons, so I can buy one that will do what I need to do.

Now my wife picked her car from the body shop last Friday, and they scanned her car to check for an Air Bag light, and she said that their scanner told them about the accident, and what body parts were damaged. When we go back to get the Air Bag fix, I'm going to go just to check out the scanner.

Thanks for the response, any more info will help.

Mike
