I have a 2003 2500hd with the 8.1L. Yesterday the pass window and driver seat, both power stoped functioning at the same time. Naturally i assumed that it was a simple fuse, but after checking and double checking all the fuses as well as the circuit breakers and have had no luck in resolving the problem. I am looking for any help and guidance as to what i need to check next. I don't believe that it is a switch or such since both stopped working at the same time and neither window switch operates the window. Kinda sucks cause the window is stuck down. any help greatly appreciate...before i have to go to the $tealer.

Look at the relays under the D/S dash up to the top left of the brake pedal. Find out which is the one in the circut and try swapping it for another one like it.

I had a problem with what turned out to be my power seat switch yesterday. Went to start my truck yesterday morning and it was dead as dead could be. Wouldn't charge with battery cables hooked up. Got it charged, drove it and this morning it was dead again. Hooked an amp meter up and it would cycle from 1 milli amp to 8.5 amps...back and fourth. Turns out my power seat switch was stuck in the back position????? Why wouldn't this blow a fuse???

The reason for the cycling 1mA --> 8.5A is because of the motor PTC's. Your switch was stuck in the back position, essentially stalling the fore/aft motor backward. The motor has a PTC (positive thermal coefficient) device. It's like a "resettable fuse". So as the PTC broke open (1mA); after 10-15 seconds; it resets; allowing motor stall (8.5A). Your fuse didn't blow because the seat safeguarded it.
