Hitch wiring

I have a 2001 2500 LD with the tow package. I notice a blue wire that was hanging next to my 7 pin conector. Does anyone know what this wire does?

Blue is the electric brake wire color, that could be it but most likely it should have already been wired into the plug??? I think there is also a light blue wire that is used for the Center High Mounted Stop Lamp on slide in campers! (Like a third brake light deal it just on the slide in)

The trailer brake wire should already be wired into your connector. I believe that Chevy puts a CHMSL wire back there for you to use however you see fit. Some people have those brake lights that fit in their receiver hitch opening when it is not being used and that wire could be used to operate it.
