bigblueZ71 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 My lights and radio come when I turn the key but no start. It's like the battery would be disconected (Its cleaned and tight). I can hear the fuel pump buzz when I turn the key. This is the 2nd time in 6-7 months this has happened. The first time it just started right up after a while but nothing now. I'm thinking starter solenoid (it is not clicking and volts are low) or ignition switch. Any Ideas? Thanks, Cory
pit0rz Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 When this happened to me (same as you describe) it was the battery. Any shop or parts place can test it for you, try jumping it?
kosb Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 That was the same thing mine did when the battery went. try charging it and see if it starts.
bigblueZ71 Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 Battery was fine. Tested the starter and it was shot. Got a new one from NAPA and all is well now. -Cory
kdogg Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Check the main power wire connection to your starter. Try tightening the nut. If the battery is good and that connection is good and it sill doesn't work, your starter is probably bad. My lights and radio come when I turn the key but no start.
