window switches

Hey guys just wondering if the window switches from a 2003 and up Silverado would work in a 99?

 

I like the different switches and it would be cool to change since I have to replace them anyhow. Thanks, Chris

 

or maybe the ones from an SS? that would be cool

Nope, I don't think so. I think GM modified them. The 99 model had the switch where you pressed down and the window went down, where as it is the opposite with the 03 and up models. Kinda hard to explain. Hope you understand. What you should do is check the female and male plugs on the wiring harness and on the back of the window switch. If the plugs match up then they should work, might have to modify the placement though. I think GM also changed the fitting for the switches also. I don't think any parts interchange from an 03 model, I could be wrong though.

NO, due to the 03 window switch has a module in it, and the one on your truck does not.

awwww dang that's not cool. oh well, looks like I will have to go with the stock ones. I was hoping to spend the money on something cooler but oh well.
