Steering Column Knock

I called my dealer today about the common "steering column knock" he said for $50 he could grease it but it would come back. He said that he expects GM to recall all the Silverados in the next 6 months because he thinks they have finally fixed the problem and developed a new column.

Don't hold your breath, I believe it has been stated in some previous posts that GM has taken the stand that it is a normal maintenance item and a greasing is SOP.
