A good wax for White trucks

Recommended Posts

I have heard great stuff about NuFinish. Yes, they have cheesy ads but supposed to be good stuff.

Have not had the chance to try it out - keeps raining here.

I have tried NuFinish and Mequiars, and I like them. NuFinish is a trip to apply white on white, but it really does work well. Im never satisfied.. always looking for something better....lol......thanks

My truck is Red, not White...but I always use Zymol. I have found it to be about the best wax out there compared to Meguiers, Turtle, 3M etc..etc... I also like "Rain Dance" a lot but not as much as the Zymol. btw- Zymol is OEM reccomended wax for quite a few different manufacturers.

i would go with a high gloss polish, if it has been a while since you last waxed the truck i would use a cleaner wax first. but with a high gloss polish and the truck being white you won't have to worry much about inconsistancy in the shine that is hard to avoid with darker colors mostly black. i use a professional grade polish but over the counter auto zone/ wal-mart meguires is one of the better products on the market

Mequiars NXT

This is my second white truck and there just ain't much you can do to white

like you can with ANY dark color.

Nature of the beast!

Mothers has a good cleaner wax

The NXT is SUPER easy to apply AND remove

I'd recommend the Mequiars NXT tech wax. I orignally bought it for my harley and GTO and fell in love with it. Super easy to apply and remove and gives a nice deep shine.

I was happy with NXT paste on my previous, white, truck. Appearance and durability were great.

I'm considering something that is said to not stain trim, and I already own a few: Klasse AIO+SG (acrylic), P21S or S100 (carnauba), and the new Turtle Wax ICE (polysiloxane, I think). The super tough Collinite waxes are said to not stain trim.

I'll be repeating some testing I did two years ago on various household items, or on the tailgate.

Some kind of protectant that could be trusted to protect the plastic and rubber parts would be nice. Then I would probably use NXT paste.

for white i use meguiar's no. 26 not so much shine as blinding white in the sun hard to look at even with shades.

other colors it only does well with a good base wax like turtel plat or meguiar's gold both paste, i havent tried some oof the newer stuff like ice but they are prolly just as good heck even the spray thing (whats it called) wet wax can shine if you got the truck clean.

if it's you first good wax on the truck i would say try mothers 3 step cleaner sealer gloss then switch to the 26 for normal waxing.

only claybar if you can see bad spots or your totaly got truck waxing ocd.

for plastic i like (mothers i think) back to black the bed caps and fender things bumper thinging and steps.

i hate trying to get the wax out of the wrinkle finish on the plastic. i find that blue painters tape works great a pain to put on every wax though.

for the plastic crome i just use the normal wax for metal chrome i like turtel wax chrome but find it to harsh for the chromed plastic.

I've been using Meguires NXT liquid wax and it is the easiest wax i've ever used, and it doesn't leave behind the white powder mess that most others do.
