i got a 02 chevy z71 i want to go with 40 inch tires and i'd like to go stright axle if i can does anyone know of a swap that will work for my truck

Off Road Unlimited has straight axle kits, they might be the ones to ask if it will work on your 1500. you might have to upgrade the rear axle to a 14 bolt but with 40" rubber your 10 bolt will not live long. a dana 60 would be a must for the front.

Fabritech is working on a SAS kit for these trucks now, I have the link to the website on a different computer, its not on the main Fabtech page, I will try and remember to get the address and post it tomorrow.

The Offroad Unlimited Kits are only for the 3/4 and 1 Ton trucks.

With 40" tires I would definately recomend a Dana 60 up front and either a 60 in back or a 14 bolt (full floating).

does anyone one know what mods would i have to do to use the the 3/4 ton kit on a 1/2 ton or even what are the differences in the frames between 3/4 ton and half ton thanks for the help

Just to add my two cents.... you are smart by liftin with a straight axle... i learned the hard way and went with IFS lift and with a straight axle, you'll save $$$$ in rediculous repairs and problems with that big of a tire. I wish i knew better then!

sorryi hate to ask again but does anyone know how to contact them about this kit or anyone that has used this kit and i wanted to know if i used the ford dana 44 and i use the chevy dana 44 hubs to keep my 6 bolt wheels

Typically these kits are just the brakets needed for mounting. You still need the axle, brakes, etc...

ok i'm trying to decide if i should just go with the chev dana 44 and swap my tcase and dos anyone know what would be the best tcase to swap to or would it be cheaper for me to run the ford dana 44 and change it over to the chevy 6bolt hubs
