Color INFRARED Reverse/Backup Camera

I used this on my 1999 Z71 for about 4 months before I traded the truck in. Before I purchased a backup camera, I looked at all of the units I could find, and this one was the best. It displays a perfectly clear color image during the day, but as night falls the infrared kicks in and it sends a clear black and white image to your monitor. In the middle of the night, with no ambient light, you can see at least 8-10 feet back clearly, and even more if there are trees, cars, or other objects for the IR to reflect off of.

I mounted this unit to the left of my trailer hitch underneath the rear bumper with a single screw. I will include the 65' cable that sends power to the camera and sends the video to your monitor.

The picture below is from RVCams.com. I can take images of the actually unit if needed. I will search my computer to see if I have any pictures of the unit installed. RVCams.com, where I purchased this camera, and the only source I've found for this particular unit, sells this unit for $175.

I'll sell mine for $125 shipped.

Oh yeah, the camera is waterproof too! You could submerge the camera and it would work fine, though I've never tried it. It's marketed to be used on RVs and on the rear of boat trailers that are submerged on ramps.

The camera also captures a reverse image so that it works just like your rearview mirror.

I am interested but know nothing about hooking one up. Do you have instructions detailing the hook-up.

Thanks,

Karl
