I just posted this in a different thread about NASCAR and when I read it I figured it might deserve it's own thread so heare goes.....

I used to love NASCAR, went to a lot of races, never missed a race on TV, collected the Action Elite replicas, etc...... Since Mike Helton and then really when Bill France Jr's boy took over it seems NASCAR has been going down hilll fast. They are taking away from everything that made the sport so popular. Instead of the "working man" being able to cheer for his favorite driver that raked, scrapped, struggled his way through the sport with hard work you now have snot-nosed pretty boys that had mommy & daddy driving them around the country in their million dollar motorhome and trailer racing go-karts, late-model, etc... and bought their way up. NASCAR caved into that scumbag Jessie Jackson's extortion tactics and paid BIG money to his Rainbow Push coalition and implimented these programs to go out and get black drivers into the sport - NOT AT ALL that I am racists or anything, but do you see the NCAA or NBA doing the same to bring more white players into the league? Is it NASCAR's fault that the overwhelming majority of black kids play stick & ball sports instead of racing karts or late-models, sprints, etc...? NASCAR began getting more & more politically correct (ie. read liberal) over those as well. Then the straw that broke the camel's back.....since long ago I have always swore that the day a Jap car lined up in the field at Daytona would be the last day I watched NASCAR. When Toyota got into the tuck series that was bad enough because the whole histroy of NASCAR has been a Chevy, Ford, Dodge classic American auto brand battle sort of thing. Then when I heard that a Camary was going to race in 2007 I told my wife I had 1 year left to watch NASCAR and I'd really like to see JR win the Championship (with his team back and everything). THEN, I am strolling through the TV channels one day around the time the whole ILLEGAL immigrants (YES they ARE illegal) was really dominating the news channels and I see a Bush race IN MEXICO and decided right there that was the day I was totally done with NASCAR. Sunday before last really put a cap on it when I was strolling through the channels after getting home from church and see DW talking about JR realling liking his car for Michigan's race and all that and there was nothing else on TV at all, so I thought I'd see what was going on and at the start of the race they sang the Canadian national anthem

In a few years time you will see Nissan and other foreign auto makers get into the sport, you very well may see the sport make a move to or atleast allow V-6 engines to race, you will see drivers who you can't spell their names and will need a translator for interviews because they can't speak English. If you have been a NASCAR fan for a long time the NASCAR you knew is taking it's last few breathes of life.

For somebody who isn't a racist, you sure seem to have a lot of problems with blacks, Mexicans, and the Japanese.

I don't see this thread lasting very long.

Wingnut: I don't see him having a problem with Minorities. I see him having a problem with how they are given preferential treatment. Think about all the groups and even a Caucus in the US Senate who cater to minorities. You have the Negro College Fund, Well what about the Caucasian College Fund? You have Minority Book Stores that sell books written only by minority authors. If the shoe was on the other foot you would be tarred ,feathered and banned as a raciest. You have people illegally comming into the country and when someone says that is WRONG you cant say they are raciest against Mexicans. Complaining about reverse racism does NOT make you a raciest. And as far as the Japanese in NASCAR goes, I think what really bugs the above poster is that American Pride is being hurt. I dont think anything stated above is raciest. Now hopefully you wont label me as a raciest because I can see his point of view.

Like I said...I don't see this thread lasting long. Last time one of these was let go, people couldn't act like adults, and it resulted in some pretty vile and offensive stuff being posted and more than one bannination.

If anybody wants to discuss it, or anything else, PM me (or another admin/mod). I'd be more than happy to share my opinions. But this isn't really a topic that falls within the GM-Trucks.com posting guidelines.

VERY thin ice here folks.

I agree about the thin ice part. I also agree that this is not a good topic for this venue. I just took issue with your response to the original poster thats all. As far as I am concerned you can delete, lock or do what ever you need to do with this thread.

WOW!!! Never thought this would go this direction. "Racist, thin-ice, banning, doesn't fall within the forum guidlines". I wasn't trying to cause a stir or flame session or anything of the sort. I read this section description as:

NFL, NHL, MBL, NASCAR, NBA, ATVs, Motorcycles, and everything in between. Hiking, mountain biking, & anything you can think of!

I was just reading a different post on NASCAR and shared my views of the way NASCAR is going IMO and was wondering if anyone else felt the way about it as I do - which apparently at least one admitted to. I think if you look at my posting history here, which has been pretty random, you will see that I haven't had a pattern of staring dung-fights and never intended to this time either. Maybe some people are just too thin skinned or PC or something. Glad this isn't the only GM truck related forum on the net.

Foreign manufacturers have been a part of NASCAR long before Helton was around. A Jaguar raced in 1958 at Riverside; your just upset GM and Ford won't keep up the support Rousch and Hendrick need to stay competitive. Admit it, the thought of Michael Waltrip contending for the championship scares you...just a little.

I aggre to some point with number9. Atleast about the Rainbow coalition stuff. I wish I had the money to start the White Entertainment Television Network. I've known lots of racists in my day and unfortunately most of them were not white. As far as Toyota competing, well if the car is made in the USA I am all for it. I'll bet as much of the Camry is made in the US as any of the other makers offerings. While we're at it whats up with letting a front wheel drive car compete with a rear drive axle? Isn't it supposed to be "stock" car racing?

Oh yaeh,

the thought of Michael Waltrip contending for the championship scares you...just a little.
:D:cheers::P:D:lurk:

Yeah, I mean your really reaching here. One on Waltrips teams might compete for it in a few years, but not with him as a driver. He really proved his lack of ability last year.

I dont see much "stock" in NASCAR, Not like when it came out. That was the real racing!!!

Yes,NASCAR is definetly not what it used to be 20-30 years ago!

The always sing the Canadian National Anthem at Michigan, probably because 75% of the people that attend the race are Canadian.
