My 1994 K1500 has a dull knock when put into reverse, or drive for that matter, it does not knock at idle or anything. It only occurs when you put it into gear. The knock speeds up when I go to move forward or reverse. It just started yesterday when I started it up. It ran fine 3 days ago when I parked it. It sounds like when you put a baseball card in the spokes of a bicycle.

You want to look at u joints. sounds weird to me.

First, I check to see if you picked up anything in the driveline. Sticks, a rock. etc Then start looking at the driveline for problems. Where does this klicking sound like it comes from? I see that you have 4X4, it could be comming from the front end.

Sounds just like my ujoints used to right before they started squeaking and got replaced

Wierd enough, I pulled the tranny shield between tranny and engine, nothing in there. I shifted it in and out of 4 wheel drive a few times, it then only started when it was in reverse, and not drive, and then it away? Perhaps something was stuck somewhere in there, but that was the first thing I checked. Thanks trememdously guys!
