BEAM SHAKE IN MY SIERRA???

Hello all I am new here and I posted a similar thread in the suspension topic heading.

 

I purchased a new '06 GMC Sierra K2500 HD SLE2 Crew Cab on 6/19/06.

 

I love it.....except for one thing.

 

My Sierra has about 1,800 miles on it at the moment. Somewhere after the 1,000 mile mark, it start to ride VERY rough. Every bump in the road became an adventure. After 15 minutes of local driving in my Sierra, Advil is a must.

 

My previous trucks include (all 4x4s): 2004 Ford Excursion Diesel, 1998 Chevrolet K2500HD Ext. Cab Long Bed, 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Ext. Cab Short Bed, 1994 Chevrolet 1500 Ext. Cab Short Bed, 1992 Ford F-250 Diesel, 1990 Ford F-250 Diesel, 1989 Chevrolet K1500 Blazer.

 

I like to think that I have some experience with trucks.

 

NONE HAVE EVER RIDDEN HAS HORRIBLY AS MY NEW SIERRA!!!!

 

Anyone who drives this truck, including a friend who happens to be a manager at local Chevy dealer says there is a serious problem here. But, anyone who works for GMC, assures me that this is just the way the truck is.

 

I have had it "diagnosed" at two GMC dealers, and both told me that the truck is handling as it should--"after all, it is a heavy duty truck, sir!"

 

One dealer called it a "Beam Shake." GM is aware of this condition which exists more obviously in some 1999-2007 Sierras and Silverados, than in others. There is no cure; it is a condition of the truck.

 

A supervisor at GMC Customer Service went so far as to tell me that Silverados and Sierras really are not the same, and that a Chevy tech was not necessarily qualified to examine a GMC!

 

I can't keep this truck in the condition it's in. I will get killed financially if I try to trade it in. ($45,103 MSRP)

 

Help please!!! Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!!!

I won't comment on the dealer, but why don't you see if the manager/tech will take a ride in your truck and then a new one and see if they notice the difference?

 

I don't really understand what it is that the truck is doing, but I'm guessing a shock or a front spring is not functioning properly.
