Im going to graduate college in the next 10 months and I'll need to buy a truck for work.  I have never owned/bought a truck before.  Im pretty sure I want a f-150 or a sierra/1500.  I mostly need it for hauling smaller interior remodeling materials, tools, and landscaping materials.  I like the stlyside look and I am a die hard 5sp guy.  I dont really know much about the engine options and what would suit my needs best.  I doubt I need 4x4 ability b/c I plan to use it onroad only.  If you guys could give me any direction on what to look for I would really apriciate it.  Also is there some where where I can see the 0-60 for different engines and trannies.  Im also on a limmited budget so new is out of the question right now.  Thanks for your help.

if you need some speed, a 4.8 or 5.3 powered GM will do the job.  it can be very hard to find a 5-speed 1500 truck tho, the majority of the 5-speed GMs are 4.3 V6s.

if you need to tow a lot, and price is very important, the f-150 could be the truck for you.  the only problem is the 5.4 V8 is 4-speed only.  there is also the 4.6 V8 that can be had with a 5-speed at a very nice price.  it is not as powerful as the 4.8 from GM, but it should get the job done.  also, if you live in an area with tough emissions laws, the f-150 is probably a good choice.

think about your needs and budget.  you might not need a $30K truck to tow a trailer, a $23K truck might be able to do the same.
