big 3 wire upgrade

Has anyone done the big 3 wire upgrade, if so did it help with the electrical system and how long did it approximately take to do? thanks. I want to see if it is even worth while to spend the money on to do.

If you have an aftermarket stereo system (or some other aftermarket high-drain devices), it's an absolute must...And makes a HUGE difference. I took my 1 farad capacitor off my 1500 watt system after I upgraded the big 3, and the stereo worked even better, without ever dimming the lights.

 

 

It took me a couple of hours, but I was cutting my own cable...If you can find direct replacements, it shouldn't take nearly as long.

well that is what this mod is for, it put bigger grounds and a bigger charging wire from the alt. to the battery.

Pretty much what he said.

 

Pos, neg, ground, alt wire...Upgrade them all to a 4awg (I did a 0awg) wire.

 

My headlights quit dimming with the windows (or when my amps were drawing a brazillion watts of power).

 

That was on my '02. I haven't done this one yet.
