I bought a set of Monroe Reflex shocks for my 06 GMC 1/2 ton crew cab.

All the listings I can find (for other brands) show 05 and 06 the same, Yet the fronts I got are different. Anyone have any ideas?

I got monroe # 911151 front and 911152 rear, rears look ok.

Any help would be great, gotta get rid of the factory pogo sticks!

Thanks,

Rick

Well, the guy at www.shockwarehouse.com , who was very nice and helpfull by the way, says Monroe doesn't fit apparently, only thing that he could find are Bilsteins, so I ordered those.

Thanks for all the thoughtful advice guys, really appreciate it. Maybe I should of asked the guy at 7-11. Aside from the accent, he had alot more to say!

Sorry no one answered your post. I hope you have good luck with the Bilsteins because I have the same problem and have been intending to order some for my Sierra 06 crew cab Z85 (not 4 wheel drive) from h@ll. I have posted about the crappy ride, soft front end, hit small bumps and get shakes and several quivers felt through your whole body. The people at the dealership say all crews ride like this and I said I don't see how GM can ever sell these trucks, but I only wanted a GMC and now look at what I have. This is the worst riding vehicle I have ever owned. Tire pressure down to 30 PSI weight in back and no better pulling a trailer. The Z71 and 4x4's don't ride this bad. Please post your results with part numbers and the supplier, there are a lot of people with a problem.

I had the same problem with my 2004 silverado crew cab.My truck rode like a 59' Caddy.I,explained to the service dept where I bought my truck that I Paid extra for HD suspension and trailering package .The dealer did exchange the pencil size shocks for 4 more of the same. I finally put a set of Monroe shocks and a set of 17" wheels and tires off of a 2004 Tahoe and now it's not so bad.

Update: Got the new Bilsteins, Part # be5-2902, and be5-2903. Installed, and the ride is 100% better, corners like its got a new sway bar, and no more floating on the freeway.

We tow this, and rides great with new shocks and rear Air-Lift. I'm happy, recommend these to anyone. And www.shockwarehouse.com gets my vote.

Happy Trails...
