Cruise control doesnt work

I just recently got this 99' Denali. So far Ive sorted through lots of electrical problems, and fixed them all except that cruise control does not work. When I move the switch to the right, and press the button above 35 mph nothing happens. No lights on the dash, just absolutely nothing. Is there a relay or something that controls this? My turn signals and wipers work fine. Everything else on the truck seems to function properly. I have some seriously long road trips coming in the next couple weeks, and I really want to fix this. Thanks so much for any help-

Make sure every brake light, including the high mounted third brake light, is working.

If you changed the brake lights to use LED lights, be careful. Depending on the brand, the cruise will think you have the brakes appied and won't engage.

Yes all three brake lights are working. I dont think they have been converted to LED's.
