Towing Question?

Has anyone towed a standard UHall trailer with their 1500 silverado?  I'm wondering if I need an adaptor for the wire harness to make the trailer lights work. The only thing I've hooked up to for towing was a small hand made trailer with the wrong wire connection so the lights wouldn't work. I don't need a brake controler ( I'm pretty sure )

  Will the lights work on the controler with out the pigtail plugged in or do I have to connect no matter what?

If you have the towing package. All you need is the adapter that will go from the U-haul wire harness to your truck and you will have to buy that at the U-haul store.  It is a joke that they have a different type of harness.  There is no need for a control because most U-haul's have surge brakes.
