Need Help With Gauge Problem

i own a 2002 gmc sierra and the other night when i clicked on the high beams the whole guage cluster started resetting and going haywire including a "security" code which i dont have on my message center then after it reset and i was back to normal then on my way home from work it did it again but it wouldnt stop trying to reset like when you turn the truck on and it did it for about 5 minutes till it shut off on my completly, when i started it back up it was fine anyone have any ideas of the problem???

Sounds like a pinched or wire grounding out in the steering wheel area, I've heard of it happening before.
