a/c retrofit opinion/options

Hi ,

 

i have a 1992 s15 jimmy and i need to convert my a/c to 134a as it is time to recharge the system . i get different opinions about wether to change the fittings and change the oil - but friends of mine said it just keaked out anyway after a few months - would it be feesable to take the compressor and accumulator off a newer jimmy at the wreckers and then have a high pressure cutout installed or is there more that i will need to do the swap - should i get the hoses too ?

find out where the leak is...

 

that should help you make a decission or cost comparrision

the compressor front seal is suspect, the conversion will never cool as well as r12 without major component changes so a repair and recharge may be best avenue
