i HAVE A 1997 SUBURBAN 4X4 1500. I AM LOOKING TO PUT A 3" LIFT AND BIGGER WHEELS AND TIRES. THE CAR SPENDS TIME OFF ROAD ON THE BEACH... MANLY IN THE SAND. I AM LOOKING FOR A WIDER WHEEL AND TIRE COMBO. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS? WHAT SIZE WILL WORK. HOW DO I MAXIMIZE TIRE WIDTH WITH OUT MAJOR MODIFICATIONS?

Hey Brudie,

If you are going to put on a lift, I'd probably plan on a 6" spindle lift and add some 35" tires that you can air down for the beach.

A 3" lift is minimal, in fact you can get 2" with the T-bar cranking but causes you to run a relatively steep angle. 305/70 X 16's (close to 33X12.50's) will fit with possibly a little rub at full crank on the back of the LCA. Crank the T-bars and use a block in the rear or add-a-leaf to level it out.
