I have a 04 2500hd 6.0 I cant find the gas filter My 92 it was on the frame rail this one i am lost is it back by the tank

I can't say for sure but I know on a lot of vehicles from 04 up it's in the tank. I was just looking at my filter on my 92 and the nuts on the lines are rusted and I can't get the darn thing off so you may be better with it in the tank. Why don't they just put a filter on the firewall and make it easy for us?

I bet it is a pain in the a$$ to get out 34,000 like to put in a new one

Its not required to be changed. It will last over 100K easily. Its part of the returneless fuel system required to pass vapor emissions and to boot you get a little more performance. (Cooler fuel)
