Bed length ????

I was looking into purchasing a TRUXEDO bed cover. I noticed that for the 06 GMC CREW CAB HD that there is a 6.5' bed and a 5'8" something bed? WTF.

Does anyone know what is going on?

The 5'8" bed is the only bed length available on the 1/2-ton crew-cabs,Which came out in '04.

Starting in '06 it is also now available on the 1/2-ton ext.cabs.

 

It is not available on any HD models,Those are only available with the 6'6" or 8' beds only.

 

Heres GM's official description of the bed lengths.....

5'8"=Short-Bed

6'6"=Standard-Bed

8'=Long-Bed

 

So now when you go in and ask for a 1/2-ton ext.cab short-bed truck you better remember that the short-bed is really short!
