Sub in 03 tahoe

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out a way to add a sub in my tahoe with the third row seats. I'm loooking at the drivers side cargo panel above the tire tools. Anyone done this? I'm not sure if I want a freeair 10 or try and built a box behind the panel?

 

I also have questions about connections for my loc ? Do I connect it at the amp or radio? Do I use the rear speaker wires? I always have connected it to the rear speakers at the radio and used the bass knob for control. I'm thinking I should connect it to the factory sub after the amp (but what wires)?

 

I have a LUX Nav and Amp.(installed)

I would like to keep the factory sub

I have a Amp with crossovers (to be installed)

i've been looking at this box for a while, but haven't been ready to buy yet. anyone else have one of these?

I have looked at down firing boxes, but I have the quad buckets. That is why i am looking at the rear panel.

i bulit a box like that on my own with some mdf and fiber glass i got a jl audio 10w3 in it. bass sound good in suburban 03 i have the 60/40 seats tho but my box has more room then that one.

 

one thing about putting a sub in the rear where the stock one is or supposed to be is that u can put one with a big magnet because the gas tank fill hose is in the way that was my orig. place to stick my 10w3 but didnt work out so i went under the seats instead u got about a 5 inches from the face of the back panel to that part where the gas goes in the truck pull the jack cover off in the back and stick a flash light in there to see what im talking about the wire thing u need to buy a amp if ur putting an after market sub if u got a stock one the wires might be back there but when u buy a amp all the wire intrutions should be there..
