I've purchased a MP3 player to use in my '02 2500hd. I have no cd or cassett, just radio.

Anybody got a wiring diagram so I can actually use it? I'm buying harnesses etc for my cd player in my car so thats easy.

Go to the radio section and search, you can get an interface that plugs into the back of your radio. The cheap version uses the headphone jack and splits to RCA cables. But you have to have a AUX or CD button on your radio. The expensive one use the dock connection at the bottom. Side from that, an FM transmitter and set one channel on the radio to it. Downside, some static and loses volume!

If you bought an I-Pod, buy a I-Trip. It just plugs into the headphone jack on the player and then you tune to a certain radio station and it plays. Works great!

GO TO WALMART ELECTRONICS SECTION AND LOOK FOR AND FM MODULATOR,

MADE BY BELKIN ELECTRONICS. BOUGHT BOUT A YEAR AGO AND NO PROBLEMS

WORKS GREAT. COMPLETLY WIRELESS, RUNS ON BATTERIES, ALSO COMES WITH

12V PWR CORD ADAPTOR FOR LONG TRIPS. HOPE THIS HELPS

WalMart also sells an FM modulator specifically for the ipod. It charges, and transmits using power from the cig. lighter. I've found that this type works much better than one that uses batteries to transmit.

WalMart sells them for about $20-$25. I've had mine for about a year, and am very happy with it. It is made by Scosche (sp?). If you live in a fairly urban area though, these might not work very well, you need a free frequency for it to work.

I never had good luck with any wireless FM transmitter. My friend has a iTrip for his iPod... the only place inside the truck it works at all is sliding around on top of the dashboard.

But unfortunately, it looks like you don't have much choice without replacing your stock radio. You could try using a wired FM modulator (one that plugs directly into your vehicle's antenna leads) which will usually produce better sound and won't be as suceptible to interference as a wireless transmitter would.

Belkin SUCKS.........i bought both of them and they both SUCKED.........static like crazy. I am in a metro area so perhaps the numerous stations have a roll in that but no matter what station i chose it would not work.

the stock radio sucks and i don't want to have to buy a cd player to use my MP3 player..........that is why i bought it, not cd's
