low to 0 oil pressure reading on gage

I own a 2003 silverado 1500 with a 5.3 t-motor. We were going camping over the weekend towing a 28ft camper. We got apprx 40 miles out on the highway and I started to notice my oil pressure dropping from 60-65 down to 40 then 20 then just barely above 0 and then nothing. I pulled over to the side of the road and looked at all the gages and found the temp gage was normal no check gages warning or check engine light. no engine clatter seemed to run normal. I shut it down and restarted and the oil pressure was normal again I drove about 25 more miles and it did it again..... Any answers?

Try sticking a mechancial gage on, in addition to orig. Verify just what your presure is. Oil pressure sender is not prohibitive but the cluster would be. Lets not just Shotgun it ! I would think if the computer saw 0 psi then the fuel would have been shut off.

that is true, cause for example after you change your oil and fire it up for the first time it goes nuts with the low oil pressure message for a few seconds
