Time for a remote starter....

Couple questions here..........

 

Given the fact that our trucks come with a factory alarm system (well, sort of), would you recommend simply a decent remote starter, or combo alarm/starter.

 

I was hoping there was something offered thru GM or at least could utilize the factory remotes, but in doing so I wud be limited to the crappy range of the stock remotes.

 

This brings us to the topic of which brand and why. I like all my preset convenience features already set up (ie entry lighting ect) and dont know if they would still work with a new system.

 

I like actually having a simple remote to use, and cud do w/o the larger lcd/2way paging/vibrating remote...mind u, its probably nice to have confirmation that its started.

 

Any suggestions on brands u have experienced. I'm trying to get an early x-mas gift from the g/f

I've got a Viper 2 way pager alarm and i like it, i got paranoid after my truck got broken into and i went nuts on the alarm with the glass break sensor and everything. It is an expensive alarm but i am pretty sure with the right combo of buttons it would make coffee
