Looking for Z71

First off---the whole "Man Show" theme is awsome! :D I watch the show with or without a man present! But anywho---I promised the husband a truck after the first of the year. He bought me the Envoy on HIS birthday and I need to get him something. He wants a Z71--between years 1994 and 1997. The max I can spend is about $5,500. (since this is a "work truck") If the truck is GREAT then possibly about 6K. Color doesn't matter. Mileage....I have no clue....I'm learning about this stuff as I go. Last week I figured out how to pop my own hood. ha-ha :D Preferably in Louisiana but I'd be willing to drive to the surrounding states for the right deal. (I love a road trip--what could be better than driving around in my Envoy for hours at a time?!) Anyway- any information will be helpful and much appreciated! See ya--gotta go jump on the trampoline! :D

What Man Show theme?

As for what you're looking for, there are craploads of EXACTLY what you're looking for in my local Truck Trader (I'm on the hunt for another truck, so I look at it often).

You want ex-cab, regular cab, 4x4, 2x4, 3/4 ton, etc?

There was a "Vote for your favorite Juggie" pole on the page when I logged in for the first time. :chevy: As for what I'm looking for......hmmmmmm....I'm not really sure. I wanted this to be a surprise thing but I'm going to hve to tell him so I don't get something he hates. I KNOW he wants a Z-71, GMC, any color, over 100K miles is OK since it's a "get from point A to point B" kinda thing. He's a mechanic so I suppose that the rougher and bigger the truck, the better. Where do you live? And is the Truck Trader online? It's hard for me to list out what I need to find because my extent of truck shooping is...Ohhhh, that's BIG and Pretty! I WANT THAT ONE WITH THE THIRD ROW OF SEATS!!! I guess that's why us gals have grandfathers, dads, brothers, uncles and husbands.... :wtf: At this point I think he just wants a Z71 in general....something that's his and his alone, with no butter fly air freshner around the mirror or lip gloss in the console. I appreciate the tip on the trader. Like I said road trips are a BLAST for me and if the truck is a good deal--I will travel to get it. My cap is about $6,000.00 and if it needs some minor work then that is ok too.

Do you like your Truck? HOLY COW I JUST SAW THE PICTURE AND IT'S FRIGGIN AWESOME! I almost got a silver one with a third row but the Envoy had a bigger body syle and I love the feeling of being able to roll right on over the person in front of me going 35mph in a 55mph zone! Thanks again and any more help you can give me is soooo much appreciated!

No room for a 3rd row in mine, and it's got the motor out of a Corvette in it (I've got over 400 horsepower on tap after my tune)...So I don't roll over people, I roar by them

You can go to traderonline.com and click around, but there are too many dealers advertising there for my personal preference. Just go to 7-11 and pick up a truck trader. They come out every Thursday (at least they do here) for about $1.75. They're over by the newspapers...There are probably a crapload of trucks in there that would fit the bill for him.

I would do your homework on anything you buy down in that area with Katrina damage all over the place. You never know what was flooded and what wasn't. Just my .02 cents

Your right---there is a TON of stuff on traderonline. I got lost in the ads! I've never seen a Truck Trader around here but I'm going to have to research the area and find one! Thanks so much! Now--about your truck. 400 horsepower???????? Good God man! I would love to take that sucker from Lafayette to Biloxi. I-10 to I-12 is my own personal race way! I travel that mess every other week end and it's pretty boring so I usually have the radio blaring and my foot to the floor. My personal best time is 3 hours 8 minutes. :chevy: Did you buy your truck that way or did you put your own blood, sweat and tears into it?

Thank God my husband is a mechanic and he looks everything over from the inside out. Alot of people are selling cars that flooded because once you replace the interior it looks pretty normal. Of course knowing how New Orleans smells on an every day basis then adding stale water and decomposing bodies.....the paint would have absorbed a smell like that...you know that car has to reek.....YUCK. Thanks for the tip though! :chevy:
