I have the factory service manuals for my 03 siearra. I can find the part number for the passanger compartment filters, I can not find the replacing section in the service manuals for the filters. Does anybody know what section I can find that in ?

Thank you :lurk:

The following statement is direct from GM. I cannot guarantee it's accuracy but this is what I found when I looked it up for your vehicle.

Starting in the 2003 model year, the passenger compartment air filter is no longer available as a factory option. With the redesigned HVAC case, the opening for the filter cavity has been molded over.

For 2002, the procedure is as follows. I have edited it to put it in proper context.

Remove the Instrument Panel sound insulator. (This is the plastic cover that is below the HVAC unit. you can see it below the glove box.) Should be held up by 7mm bolts.

Remove the filter access door screw.

Remove the filter access door from the HVAC module.

Remove the passenger compartment air filters (there are usually 2 of them)

I changed my filters in the summer. Removed the screws under the glove box, didn't remove the one under in the center (too hard to get to), the plastic cover can be pulled down easy enough to get access. The filters are side by side, the first just drops down, then the second you can reach in and pull towards you to drop down the same slot.

Really easy!
