Dim headlights

Recommended Posts

My son's 1995 s10 has very dim headlights. The other lights on the vehicle appear to be ok. The headlights have been changed but they still are dim. The engine speed has no affect on the brightness either. Anyone dealt with this problem before?

By the way, the headlights are the sealed beam type.

Thanks!

Sounds like a corroded connection at the ground connection or the actual headlight connectors.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked the connections today and they appear to be in good shape but I cleaned them anyway. It had no affect.

Someone else suggested a weak altenator as a possible culprit. Anyone heard of this before? Would there be other problems associated with that? As I mentioned before, the headlights are very dim and cast a yellow light.

Thanks again

if it is the alternator the brightness would change with speed. u could have a draw on your lights like do any other ights come on wth the headlights bcuz that takes power from the lights
